Essential Doctrinal Beliefs
God:
We believe the Scriptures teach that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is Jehovah, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love.
Deity of Christ:
We believe the Scriptures teach that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Godhead, is the Son of God and came in the flesh from God to accomplish His sovereign plan of salvation. He is the only way to God and the object of our faith.
Resurrection of Christ:
We believe the Scriptures teach that the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead was a miraculous and bodily (i.e. physical), resurrection as verified by the gospel accounts. His resurrection defeated death, hell and the grave for every regenerate believer and is the cornerstone upon which the entire faith is built.
The Gospel:
We believe the Scriptures teach that the gospel (i.e. good news), of Jesus Christ declares that He is the Savior of the world. It is His completion of a spiritual work by coming as God in the flesh, living a sinless life, dying by crucifixion for our sins, resurrecting from the dead and freely offering the gift of eternal life to those who believe.
Salvation:
We believe the Scriptures teach that salvation is the complete work of God by which He forgives our sins and rescues us from His final judgment. It is available by grace and accomplished through personal faith and belief in the finished work of Jesus Christ, (that satisfied God’s judgment and wrath against us), resulting in personal repentance and life-long submission and obedience to Him.
The Scriptures:
We believe the the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end and truth without mixture of error for its matter.
